Ms. Murphy's Chemistry class participated in a forensic lab experiment on yesterday. The process, called titration, is used to "find the concentration of poison in a victim's system," Murphy said. "This utilizes a chemistry skill called stoichiometry and requires knowledge of acid and bases." Daisin Pruitt (11) and Kyson Bridges (11) #cardstudentsareworthit #highschool #chemistry

Did you know it's National Library Week? What a perfect time to highlight FHS Media Specialist Kaylyn Busch. Former Farmington graduate, Ms. Busch received her M.Ed in Library Media from Arkansas Tech University. She said this career allowed her "to marry my love of research, reading, and technology into something that could reach all content areas [and] I get to help students succeed in a variety of classes and projects." Whether you need a book recommendation, help with 3D printing, or technical help with computers, Ms. Busch is always happy to help any Cardinal out. #cardstudentsareworthit

It's National Public Health Week! We wanted to take this opportunity to showcase our resident public health expert, Nurse Andrea Rollins. Nurse Rollins graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock with an Associates in Nursing in 2015. "Healthy schools equals healthy communities. Students must be healthy to be educated and must be educated to be healthy. It is easier to teach a child healthy habits than to break unhealthy habits of an adult," Rollins said. Each day this week Nurse Rollins is educating faculty and staff at FHS on a variety of public health related topics including: racial equity in healthcare, how climate change can impact public health, and how the community can fight back against Covid-19. #cardstudentsareworthit
