The 2023 Farmington Jr. High Football Cardinals completed a 9-0 season with a 63-6 victory over Prairie Grove in the last game of the season. In doing so, they won the school's first-ever 5A/6A NWRV Conference Title. The league consists of perineal football contenders Greenwood, Shiloh Christian, Alma, and Harrison to name a few. This is Farmington’s first jr. high conference title since 2012.

Key games in the run to be undefeated were a 21-13 win over Greenwood early in the season. Then 13-3 and 34-14 victories over Harrison and Alma respectively. The team then secured a 28-27 come-from-behind victory over last year's undefeated conference champ, Shiloh Christian.

Coach Covington, the head coach of the Jr. High Cardinals stated, “This year's 9th graders have gone 26-4 since their 7th grade season vs 5A, 6A, and 7A competition. Since day one, they have bought into the culture of the program, and have done everything we have asked of them. I am so proud of this group and can’t wait to see how they continue their high school careers.”

He also says, “Our Jr High JV team this year went 9-1 as well. We have the same expectations for next year’s jr. high team. The future is most definitely bright for Cardinal Football!”
